"A New Map of France From the Latest Observations", by John Senex, 1733, $115. Paper size is approx. 7 1/2" x 9". Shows numerous cities and towns and includes the southern coast of England, eastern Germany, and northern Italy. Condition: Light agetoning and offsetting, folds as issued, otherwise very good.
"France in Provinces" , 1808, Published by C. Smith, $145. 12 1/2" x 15 1/2", Hand colored engraving. A very nice handcolored map of France on a large scale. Includes an inset of Corsica. Condition: Some agetoning, several spots along edges of map, small stain at lower right in Mediterranean Sea, otherwise very good.
"France in Departments" , 1808, Published by C. Smith, $145. 12 1/2" x 15 1/2", Hand colored engraving. A very nice handcolored map of France on a large scale with great detail. Includes an inset of Corsica. Condition: Some agetoning, several spots along edges of map, small stain at lower right in Mediterranean Sea, otherwise very good.
"Piedmont & Savoy with Part of the South of France" , 1808, Published by C. Smith, $145. 12 1/2" x 15 1/2", Hand colored engraving. A very nice map on a large scale showing Piedmont, Savoy, the "Imperial Fiefs", Republic of Genoa, and Parma and Placentia. The French coast is shown from Arles to Nice. Condition: Some agetoning, several spots along edges of map, small stain at lower right in Mediterranean Sea, otherwise very good.
"France" by Thomas Cowperthwait, $95, 1850, 14" x 18" (approx). Hand colored engraving with ornate border. A very nice mid nineteenth century map of France. At uuper left is an inmset of the "Environs of Paris". At upper right is an inset of Corsica. Condition: Minor spotting and agetoning. Edges of margims are rough with right margin darkened, embrittled, and chipped up to the ornate border of the map. Old reinforcing tape on verso of right and bottom edge Upper right corner of margin is missing. Note: Right border and margins are not shown in scan.
"Hand Colored Map of France with a small inset of Corsica" 1854, Engraved by J. Bartholomew; published by A. & C. Black; $85. Size: 12" x 17". Condition: Age toning at edges; several spots on map. NOTE: Due to scanner limitations borders and margins may not show in the image.
France "Lyon", 1889, Wagner & Debes, $35. Very detailed street map including major landmarks. Marked on bottom "Grave et Imprime par Wagner & Debes, Leipzig". Size: 11" x 12.25" Condition: Very good; folds as issued; trimmed close to neatline on right side as originally issued.
France "Nice", 1889, Wagner & Debes, $35. Paper size is approx. 6.25" x 8.25". Very detailed street plan that has numbered keys to 43 important sites. Also shows the routes of the trams. Centerfold as issued. Excellent condition.
Northern France "Dept. De L'Aisne" by V. Levasseur.....$85 Engraving, 14" x 21 1/2", Ca. 1850. Beautifully engraved example from Levasseur's Atlas Universel Illustre. Elaborate hand colored vignettes surrounding map. Map has outline color and is very detailed. Upper part of vignette features Soissons and Laon. Some age toning at edges, otherwise very good condition.
"France" , ca 1860, Outline Colored Engraving by J. Rapkin, Published by John Tallis , $175. 10 1/2" x 14 1/2" . A lovely map with ornate border and vignettes showing France divided into Departments. Vignettes include views of the Garden of the Palais Royal, the Bridge of Toulouse, the Palace at Fontainebleau, plus various other interesting scenes. Condition: Centerfold as issued, agetoning along edges, a few spots and smudges in margins, otherwise very good. Note: Scan does not show full margins.
